چکیده
In the present study, mollusc species distributed in Kemer Bay (Sea of Marmara) were determined seasonally (November, February, May, and August) years 2010 2011. The benthic samples collected from different biotopes 16 stations at depth ranging between 0.2 5 m by using a quadrate sampling gear. As result evaluation materials, total 66 belonging to 3 classes (Polyplacophora, Gastropoda, Bivalvia) identified. When number individuals are compared based on seasons, maximum (46 species) (168825 ind. m-2) counted autumn spring, respectively. Mytilus galloprovincialis (Lamarck, 1819) Mytilaster lineatus (Gmelin, 1791) most abundant all seasons. Whereas, Bittium reticulatum (da Costa, 1778), Rissoa membranacea (Montagu, 1803), Tricolia pullus (Linnaeus, 1758) characterized as having highest frequency index values

Population density, distribution and biomass of macrobenthic fauna in Chabahar Bay were investigated from May 1995 to March 1996 on a bimonthly basis. The most abundant groups were Amphipods (21%), Polychaetes (19%), Gastropods (15.7%) and Bivalves (10.6%). Maximum (13000 individuals/m2) and minimum (4600 individuals/m2) were observed in May and July respectively. The changes in density were in...

abstractthe aim of this study was to determine the ecology of the ostracoda species in the sediments collected from the erdek bay and to observe the relationship between ecological parameters with the number of ostracoda species and individual numbers. sediment and water samples have been collected seasonally from 8 stations of the study area from six different depths (0.3; 1; 5; 10; 20; 30 m)....

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Aspects of carbon isotope biogeochemistry of late Quaternary sediments from the Marmara Sea and Black Sea
The Marmara Sea is situated between the world’s largest permanently anoxic basin, the Black Sea, and an enclosed marginal sea, the Aegean Sea, which experienced quasi-periodic sapropel deposition since Miocene time. It is connected to the Black Sea and the Aegean Sea through the Straits of Bosphorus and Dardanelles, respectively. Sapropel M1, which contains from 1 to 2% total organic carbon, wa...
